Welcome to the Willis Clinical Trial Insurance Submission Platform!

Please take a moment to review this overview before beginning your submission.

This platform is Willis' electronic solution for the complex and frequently changing clinical trial insurance process. From this page you can navigate our interactive map, review country-specific requirements, and complete applications — all in one place.

Submissions can be made 24 hours a day from anywhere in the world, enabling faster delivery of quotations, certificates, and policies.

Willis developed this platform for our life sciences clients, and we welcome your feedback and suggestions for improving your experience.

Important guidelines

  • This platform is used to secure insurance certificates for countries that require locally admitted clinical trial insurance.
  • If your protocol includes sites in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom, coverage may be available under a Master Global Product Liability/Clinical Trial policy. Certain other countries may also accept the Master Global policy.
  • Select a country in the interactive map to see whether locally admitted clinical trial insurance is mandated.
  • Where local coverage is mandated, review the "Data Required" section to determine what is needed to obtain a quotation.
  • Select Go to Form to complete the Quote Request.
  • Once the Quote Request is complete and you have assembled the remaining required documents — such as the protocol and informed consent forms — select Submit.
  • Submissions must be complete for carriers to issue a timely quotation. Incomplete submissions will delay the process.
  • Requirements change regularly in response to local insurance regulations. Please review them each time you request a new certificate.
  • Timeframes for quotations, certificates, and policies vary by country. Most are processed promptly, but we strongly recommend submitting your completed request at least two weeks before the certificate is required for regulatory purposes.

Country Updates

Update: Clinical Trial Liability Coverage Available in Ukraine

We are pleased to share that Willis is again able to place locally admitted clinical trial liability coverage in Ukraine.

Two important considerations for planning purposes:

Extended timelines. The process to receive bound policy documentation is significantly longer than in most markets. Please build additional lead time into your regulatory submission schedule and submit requests as early as possible.

Know-Your-Client requirements. Placements in Ukraine are subject to a strict KYC review. Sponsors should expect to provide detailed corporate ownership, beneficial ownership, and entity documentation before the carrier will proceed. Incomplete KYC materials will halt the process.

If you have a study with sites in Ukraine, please contact the Willis Clinical Trial Service Team to discuss requirements and timing before you submit.
